Going Unique —Chimeras NFTs in Use

NFTs have found immense application in many industries as their qualities of uniqueness, tethering to real-world items and non-fungibility, have made them indispensable for providing their holders with the vaunted requirements of solidifying ownership rights. However, the two biggest applications for NFTs have been found in the artwork and gaming industries.

Rightly so, considering that works of art and associated products of human creativity should be unique and thus secured from forgery, providing their owners with the safety of the knowledge that they are the sole proprietors of such potential value-carriers. The gaming industry is not much different, since the landscape of gaming itself is endowed with a myriad of aspects that require uniqueness and, as such — ownership guarantees that protect against cheating, mods, and other types of in-game fraud.

NFTs have been applied with great success in such gaming directions as collectible card games from a diverse range of universes. Some cards fetch hundreds of thousands of dollars at auctions and then increase in value upon purchase. The popularity of NFTs in decentralized sports games, racing games, and open-world games have spawned an immense market for them, and the Chimeras metaverse is also implementing the power of NFTs in the game.

In Chimeras, two types of in-game elements are endowed with NFTs and enable players to exploit their unique qualities for advancing in the game.

Chimeras Creatures

All Creatures in Chimeras are presented in the form of NFTs, making them collectible entities and in-game combat units that have unique parameters defining their abilities and stats. Among them are the following:

• The Health of the Creature represents the number of damage points that it can withstand before leaving battle;
• The Energy that is consumed when using Abilities in battle;
• The Damage points that represent how much damage a Creature can dish out at the enemy with its basic attack;
• The Critical Damage Chance stance is the probability with which a Creature will inflict increased damage with a basic attack;
• The Evasion ability that determines the probability with which the Creature will ignore some of the damage received;
• The Initiative, which is the parameter that determines the order of Creature actions in battle. The higher the initiative — the earlier the creature can act.

Next are the Creature Properties that determine against what types of other Creatures a specific unit is more effective. Some properties, when present in a Creature, form a synergy together with another property, thus increasing the values of their modifiers.

Lastly are the Abilities, which are essentially special attacks that Creatures can automatically apply in battle. Using the Abilities can turn the tide of battle. Each Ability in the game is associated with a property and such an association increases the likelihood of transferring an Ability to a Creature during its creation and determining the appearance of its body parts.

Alchemy

Since the Creatures are the main in-game combat units, they need to be created first. Creatures are created through the combination of various parameters and properties that are contained in ingredients found throughout the game world. This process is called Alchemy and takes place in three stages:

During the first Cleanup stage, the player adds primitive ingredients to the pot and receives base ingredients as a result. The primitives determine the parameters and properties of the Creature being created.

The second, or Base stage, allows players to add a certain amount of base ingredients to the pot and obtain a Creature template. The template is a set of properties and parameters obtained by comparing the properties and parameters of the ingredients used.

The third and final stage is the Additive stage, during which the player adds a certain amount of additive ingredients to the pot to determine the abilities of the future Creature.

Land Plots

The sales of digital real estate are hitting records with the average check for such land plots in various online worlds standing at around $2,000. Chimeras also contains real estate plots presented with NFTs that players can buy at auction or rent to others. The number of real estate plots in Chimeras is limited by some available for purchase by players, while the rest being closed off as starting possessions for Clans. Owning land plots in Chimeras grants players the following benefits:

The first benefit is the income that each plot generates during a fixed period based on the Fertility parameter, which increases with the growth of the plot’s level and thus increases yield. However, land plots are profitable only if subject to a special effect applied for a limited time when using a special maintenance consumable.

Another benefit is the Creature breeding bonus, as players receive ingredients for creating Creatures appearing on the land at a certain point within a fixed period. The chance of an ingredient appearing on a plot depends on its level.

The last benefit is Customization that allows players to alter their land using various maintenance items to improve their in-game performance.
